While doing internet research about Babson, I came across this beautiful and very meaningful blog of yours.
I am keen to start a business, so looking for an MBA with specialization in Entrepreneurship. I found that Babson is among the best for an Entrepreneurship specialty MBA and glad to know that you are the current student. I would like you to guide me a bit if I have any chance of getting admitted in this program.
I am a senior electronics engineer for almost 5.5 years including 1 year of experience working in US. I have a GMAT score of 660. I don’t have any management experience, nor do I have any business start-up experience, but my long term goal is to start a business. To gain the functional management skills such as accounts, finance and marketing required for a successful start-up, I am looking forward to pursue MBA.

Great questions.

1. Babson is generally more intense as compared to other business schools, however this is changing. My class worked 5 days a week and had 2-3 classes (90 mins each) every day. The incoming class starts and finishes by noon, and works 4 days a week. The administration has taken in the feedback about work load and shuffled things around, so I’m positive about it going forward. Does this answer your question?

2. The answer is : “It depends.” If you are an American student, then there are no VISA restrictions other than what you can manage with your work load. Babson does have graduate assistantships that work a certain number of hours per week and a student on an F1 visa is allowed to work no more than 20 hours per week in total. You can also do summer internships or second year projects. At all times, you need to be cognizant of your visa status and other paperwork, but the Babson Office of International Programs is very helpful and will guide you at each step. Hope this helps.
